Mindfulness Actually Boosted My Creativity
Being present in everyday life can transform your routine and inspire new ideas.

Hey there!
As Week 6 of my 90-day challenge comes to an end, I’ve noticed something remarkable unfolding in my journey. While I’ve been writing short stories and poems recently, I have gained a new layer of awareness; an appreciation for the beauty in the little details of everyday moments. These small, often overlooked details are now shaping my creativity in ways I hadn’t anticipated.
It’s the little things that stand out: the way the sun gently rises at dawn, the crisp sound of birds chirping while out on my walks, or the cool breeze that greets me during my morning stroll. All of these have become sources of inspiration that fuel my writing. Did you catch that? I am becoming more mindful of the little things. Being present and aware of my surroundings in this way has added a new level of creativity to my daily routine.
We all live busy lives…
And life tends to keep us on our toes, especially when juggling work, family, and personal projects. This week, my routine took an unexpected turn (yet again). On some mornings, I woke up later than usual and had to focus on getting my daughter ready for school. My usual writing routine shifted, with walks happening after the school run, followed by writing.
These adjustments reminded me of the importance of being present in the moment. Even when life doesn’t go as planned, practising mindfulness—whether it’s during a peaceful morning walk or while rushing to prepare for the day—has allowed me to remain grounded. I no longer get annoyed when I can’t stick to my pre-scheduled routine (like I used to in the previous weeks). This week taught me that I’m able to navigate the flow of each day and find peace, even amid the chaos that is in our lives.
What I’ve learned this week is…
Being mindful doesn’t have to mean sitting still in silence. As a creative, being mindful could be paying attention to the world around us and using those details to fuel creativity. Whether it’s capturing the light of the early morning sun in a poem or drawing inspiration from the simple sound of birds singing, the things that I’ve noticed during these mindful moments have formed part of my creative process and have been included in the work I’ve created this week.
I encourage you to introduce mindfulness into your own daily routine.
No matter what project or goal you’re working on, take a few moments each day to pause and notice the details around you; the sounds, sights, and sensations that often slip by unnoticed. You might be surprised at how these small moments can inspire fresh ideas and help you stay grounded during hectic times.
As I take on Week 7 starting tomorrow,
I hope that I continue to be more aware of how powerful mindfulness can be for me. Whether my routine unfolds as planned or takes unexpected twists, I’ll definitely be living in the moment and using my experiences to push my creativity.
Unlike previous weeks, I have no advice to share with you about my lessons from this week. I just hope that you can take something away from all I’ve shared.
Remember to:

Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Until next week’s letter, have an amazing life!
With Love,
Rae.
