Hello,
Thank you for opening another newsletter from me.
It still feels like a dream that I’m writing and sending out newsletters!
Actually, it feels like a dream that I have started my 90-day challenge and even completed 1 week of writing daily.
1 week!
It’s such a big deal to me because I was supposed to have commenced this challenge in January and kept giving myself excuses for why “it just wasn’t the right time”. But that was just my fear of taking on something challenging talking. I knew going in that this wouldn’t be easy, but the biggest hurdle wasn’t the writing or the new healthy habits… it was getting started. Well, newsflash: there is no right time to start. I know that that’s cliche but I had to live it to understand it for myself.
How many times have we let fear stop us from doing the things that could change our lives? Whether it’s fear of failure, fear of judgement, or just the fear of the unknown, we all face it. And trust me, I felt it too.
But here’s the thing: once you start, that fear loses its grip.
Let’s Talk About Week 1:
I won’t lie, I had doubts. There were moments when the thought of writing daily and making big changes to my lifestyle felt overwhelming. But pushing through that initial fear has already shown me that what feels impossible on Day 1 starts feeling achievable on Day 7. My writing is flowing, I’m moving more, and I’m feeling more energised.
In the health department, it wasn’t a 10/10 week because I wasn’t able to put in up to 10,000 every day; some days I did, but some days were not perfect. But I’m not looking for perfection, I’m looking for improvement so I’m not mad about it. I have more opportunities to do better and shed the unwanted kgs.
Breaking Free from Fear:
We all have that one thing we want to do—whether it’s writing, getting healthier, or chasing a dream. So, what’s holding us back? My brain admits to the fears I had. But I recognise that fear is a part of the process, and we can use it as fuel instead of letting it paralyse us. I’m proof that you don’t have to be fearless to start; you just have to begin.
Here’s what I learned this week:
The fear of starting is way worse than actually starting.
Small steps every day build momentum.
Sharing the journey with you all is keeping me accountable and motivated!
If you’ve been holding back on something you want to start, I encourage you to take that first step today. We’re in this together. I’ll be updating you every week on how the challenge is going, and I’d love to hear what fears you’ve overcome or what goals you’re working on.
Feel free to share your stories, struggles, and wins by replying to this email or connecting with me on social media (via Instagram or LinkedIn).
We’re only getting started, and I can’t wait to see where we’ll be in 90 days. If you’ve got a project you’d love to work on, join me to break through the fear of starting and make things happen!
Until my next letter, remember that:
"Even the greatest was once a beginner. Don’t be afraid to take that first step."
