2 Months Into My Personal Challenge & I'm Learning Lessons
I’ve been building habits and resilience even when life gets in the way.
Hello there!
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve officially reached the two-month milestone in my 90-day challenge!
What?!
I’m literally screaming in my head.
This journey has been filled with ups, downs, and a few unexpected twists, but through it all, my drive to build sustainable habits has kept me going. Reflecting on the past 2 months, I’m reminded that while the path to progress isn’t always linear, it’s the small, consistent steps that make all the difference.
One of the biggest wins of this challenge has been writing every single day.
Even on days when my routine got disrupted because life’s demands took center stage, I found myself coming back to my laptop to write, more determined than ever. Writing daily has helped me to improve my creativity and has also given me a space to regroup and reset whenever I feel off-track.
Looking back, I believe that this consistent commitment to writing every day is leading to something more profound; building a daily writing habit that’s becoming second nature. It’s empowering to realise that even when things don’t go as planned every day, I have something I can look forward to that helps me stay grounded and focused.
Of course, this journey hasn’t been without its challenges.
Last week, I couldn’t go for my morning walks on some days, as life demanded my attention elsewhere. From family responsibilities and new professional opportunities to unforeseen commitments, I have recently faced moments and responsibilities that made sticking to my routine almost impossible. And while those slumps were discouraging at times, I knew it was just one of those things with life.
Things don’t always go as planned.
Instead of letting those moments derail me, I focused on bouncing back as soon as I could and doing the best that I could every day, thanks to the discipline I’ve been building. It’s easy to feel discouraged when we miss a day or fall short. I dealt with that last week and talked about it in last week’s letter but this challenge has taught me the importance of resilience. We all have setbacks, but what matters is how quickly we get back up and keep moving forward.
If there’s one takeaway from these past two months, it’s that perfection isn’t the goal—consistency is.
Habits aren’t built in a day, nor are they perfected in a week. I know that the results I’m looking for are on the other side of showing up again and again. Even when it’s tough, even when things don’t go as planned.
I hope this week’s letter encourages you to embrace whatever process you’re going through, to be kind to yourself when things get bumpy, and to celebrate the small wins along the way. I’m learning first-hand that building a habit, whether it’s writing, walking, or anything else, is all about consistency, not about perfect days or flawless routines.
With one month left in the challenge, I’m excited to see how this journey will evolve.
My focus remains on building sustainable habits that empower me to keep going, no matter what life throws my way. And I’m here to remind you that wherever you are in your own journey, every effort counts, and every small step is a victory.
Until my next letter, remember that:
